POSITION TITLE: HBCU Responsible Sourcing & Sustainability Intern - Summer 2022
REPORTS TO: Sr Director – Responsible Sourcing & Sustainability
POSITION SUMMARY:
This role is focused on supporting, developing, and facilitating the global sourcing strategies with respect to sustainability and responsible sourcing. This position will work closely with the Sr Director – Responsible Sourcing & Sustainability to support in research and policy recommendations to further AEO’s sustainability goals. The ideal candidate will have a strong background and interest in sustainability.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Research and synthesize industry best practices for manufacturing & retail
- Support multiple sustainability initiatives through research, benchmarking, and data collection
- Assist in development of procedures, reference resources, and educational resources
- Communicate across functional areas (supply chain, retail, marketing, compliance, product management, etc.)
- Review AEO’s sustainability communications for opportunities to improve customer and other external engagement
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Enrollment at an accredited Historically Black College or University (HBCU)
- Sound judgement
- Background in sustainability, business related majors, responsible sourcing preferred
- Ability to think strategically
- Experience in retail or consumer products a plus
- Excellent interpersonal, prioritization, planning and communication skills
- Strong analytical skills
- High degree of proficiency in Google office tools
- Ability to perform multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment, without compromising accuracy
- High integrity, self-motivated, intense intellectual curiosity and attention to detail
