Assistant Designer - International Men's Knits

POSITION SUMMARY:
This role will support the Design team on all aspects of the product lifecycle from concept to final development within the International Men’s Knits category.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Provide administrative support from concept to design to final development of the International Men’s Knits classification
• Master knowledge of all styles, raw materials and trims related to Men’s Knits
• Assist with the management of cross-functional communication between the International, Merchandising, Production, Technical design and external vendors
• Work with Global merchants to ensure International customer needs and choice counts are covered each season
• Help to organize and keep track of samples
• Assist in sketching designs in Illustrator (flats)
• Prepare PLM packages and update them as needed
• Assist with the preparation of presentation boards for seasonal/ milestone meetings
• Conduct design research for international trend as directed by department head
• Attend fit sessions as needed
• Review lab dips, samples and submits with Supervisor and enter/send comments to vendors
• Prepare line sheets and update as necessary
• Perform other duties as required
• Able to work in a hybrid environment, meaning that some work may be performed remotely but certain essential functions must be performed in-person/in-office based on the needs of the business.
• In person/in-office collaboration is required, the frequency of such in-person/in-office collaboration (e.g., portion of week, entire week) is dictated by business needs. Such collaboration includes work centralized around product development, milestone meetings, fittings, and approvals.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Fashion or Art (or equivalent experience and education)
• Keen eye for color, trend, detail and construction
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Able to multi task and prioritize based on business objectives
• Organized and detail oriented
• Working knowledge of Illustrator and Excel
• Web PLM experience a plus
