POSITION TITLE:                  HR Coordinator

REPORTS TO:                        Manager – Talent Management

 

 

 

Position Summary:  We are seeking an HR Coordinator to provide support and assistance to the Talent Management Team, ensuring optimum effectiveness and efficiency of key functions including Talent, Culture and Learning & Development. This position will require an in-person presence in the Pittsburgh office on Mondays in order to facilitate new hire orientation.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Redefine and streamline the orientation and onboarding experience for new associates, accelerating connections and enabling successful transitions into the AEO culture, business and teams
  • Coordinate all orientation and onboarding activities; this includes working closely with Talent Acquisition, HR Business Partners and Hiring Managers as well as Corporate Security, Desktop Technology, General Counsel, HRIS, Benefits, and Corporate Social Responsibility teams
    • Weekly administrative activities and tasks include scheduling Google events, monitoring and responding to the AEO Orientation mailbox, sending new hire welcome emails, manager emails, etc.
  • Act as cultural ambassador for new hires entering organization, embodying the welcoming, inclusive and people-centered values of AEO
  • Maintain, organize and prepare employee files – physical and electronic, active and term
  • Support Organizational Design through maintaining corporate org charts
  • Inform and support the learning and development curriculum based on needs assessments across associate and leader lifecycles that reinforce the AEO Values and drives a culture of inclusion and engagement
  • Support both individual and team recognition through formal programs while consulting with HR team and leaders to find meaningful ways to demonstrate appreciation for associates and teams
  • Stay current on research, developments and best-practices in talent management and related fields, inside and outside of the retail industry, to influence and impact future planning and strategy
  • Work with Talent Management team and HR Business Partners to support functional change management efforts including communication planning, readiness assessments, and defining action plans
  • Support vendor relationships where needed (including contracts and program enhancements)
  • Perform other duties as assigned and support special projects as needed

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Human Resources Management, Organizational Development, Communication, Psychology or related field of study preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience preferred in an administrative position involving HR related work; experience supporting new hire orientation a bonus. Prior experience with an HRIS and LMS preferred.
  • Handle proprietary and non-routine information with utmost confidentiality.
  • High degree of proficiency Google & Internet applications
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Exceptional customer service demonstrated through positive actions.
  • Outgoing and gregarious, enjoys interacting with a variety of people
  • Self-motivated with critical attention to detail, deadlines and reporting.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage time effectively.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment.
  • Demonstrated collaborative skills and ability to work well within a team.
