Sr Manager - Sourcing Strategy

POSITION SUMMARY:

This strategy role reports to the Senior Vice President of Global Sourcing & Production, with direct visibility to the Chief Operating Officer and VP of Corporate Strategy. You will regularly work with executives and senior partners from across the organization.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Strategy - Supporting AEO senior leadership in the development and execution of AEO’s long-term production, sourcing, and sustainability strategies. 
• Reporting - Leading regular financial & strategic reviews to assess business performance. Developing materials for Quarterly Earnings Calls, Board of Director meetings, and Monthly Planning Commission reviews. 
• Cross-Functional Partnerships - Partnering across Technology, Supply Chain, Product, and other business stakeholders to develop strategies, operating plans, and roadmaps.
• Project Leadership - Leading complex, data-driven, cross-functional projects. Examples of past projects include On-Demand Manufacturing, 3D Visualization, Development Ratio Tracking, AEO Global Vendor Conference, and portions of AEO’s Covid response. 
• Team Management – Assisting in the management of 190 individuals across the Production & Sourcing division, including annual budgeting, organizational strategy, and performance evaluations.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain/Logistics, Finance, or related field
• Advanced degree (MBA, Master’s) preferred
• Ability to develop quantitative analyses, strategic insights, and compelling recommendations to influence senior leaders from across the company
• Ability to lead cross-functional teams and collaborate effectively with individuals from different backgrounds
• Ability to thrive in ambiguity and manage multiple simultaneous work streams
• Strategic problem-solving skills, with the ability to reduce complexity 
• General understanding of business operations and financial concepts
• General understanding of retail industry and apparel supply chains
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
