POSITION TITLE: Senior Analyst - Finance Systems
REPORTS TO: Senior Manager - Accounting
POSITION SUMMARY:
This individual will be responsible for providing support related to accounting and finance software applications. This support includes the maintenance of master data across various platforms, problem solving data-related issues, and participating in new system implementations. This position is primarily a systems-focused role, but will require proficiency in accounting and financial concepts.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform monthly maintenance related to updating accounting master data between our general ledger and reporting systems
- Be first point of contact for application support issues and assist in routing issues to the appropriate IT support team
- Provide on-call support during accounting close
- Actively seek out process improvements and develop best practices surrounding usage of financial systems
- Author documentation surrounding key processes and procedures
- Assist in delivering training to various finance departments
- Assist with the design and administration of team collaboration tools and spaces
- Coordinate user acceptance testing related to upgrades and other system implementations
- Participate in the execution of internal controls related to the administration of financial systems
- Assist the accounting department in designing application based controls over financial reporting
- Maintain effective and service-oriented relationships with members of our various finance and IT departments
- Manage backlog of opportunities and assist accounting senior manager with prioritization of project work
- Additional responsibilities as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) in information science, computer science, or other related field is required
- 1-3 years of experience in a finance systems role is required
- Experience with Oracle and/or Hyperion is required
- Customer service experience is preferred
- Experience with Island Pacific and Lawson is preferred
- High degree of proficiency Microsoft Office and Google Workspace is preferred
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrated collaborative skills and ability to work well within a team
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment
